I found an old crush from elementary school. I didn’t find him on Facebook. I did it the old-fashioned way. I road my bike passed his house seven times a day until one day he finally came out to get his mail and I said, “Warren? Warren Beatty? Fancy meeting you here!”
Okay. Not really. That’s the OLD old-fashioned way. I internet stalked and I found my first Asian crush with the famous American actor’s name when I was doing research for a manuscript I was writing. I was hovering over a very cha…

Well, my babies are growing up. It’s so sad. Just today my youngest son told me he was moving out. Sigh, how the days go by…
Jordan: Mommy, I’m a big boy now.
Me (as I am giving my “big boy” a bath): Yes you are, honey.
J: I’m gonna grow this tall and be big like you.” Stretches up on his tippy toes and holds his hand about 3 inches above where his head is.
Me: Oh, my. That is big.
J: I’m so big, I want a green car.
Me (startled giggle): Oh, do you now? A green one?
J: Yeah. I know how to driv…

When I was pregnant, there were so many things I was looking forward to. I remember holding my hands on my stomach, trying to touch the mystery that was my baby moving inside me. I couldn't wait to see what he looked like, or breathe in his new baby smell. I couldn't wait until I could hold him in my arms, touch his skin. I wanted to hear his cries and be there to comfort him.
Of all the things I was looking forward to, I can easily say that breastfeeding was not one of them.
I had made the ch…

It is quickly creeping up on us. The holiday giving season, complete with requests from organizations all over the gamut. I know so many people and companies are financially hurting right now and many that want to give are thinking a bit more carefully about if and who they will give to.
There are many ways to share your blessings. There will be phone calls, emails and snail mails from everyone in the coming weeks telling you why you should give to them. I have already received a few mailboxes…

One Single Impression Prompt -
Departed
I was 25 weeks into my pregnancy
My twins were thriving inside my womb
On that day of january i got the bad news
My
cervix was too short
Twins were ready to depart from my womb
The shock of it is hard to explain
My fear is palpable in its memory still
I was too far in pregnancy to get the cervical stitch
Complete hospital bed rest
Drug called…

I recently heard parenting defined as the art of growing human potential.
I think it’s a beautiful definition.
And it’s pretty intimidating. In the midst of a two-year-old exploring his growing independence, a feisty and precocious five-year-old, and all the demands of daily life, I’m not sure I’m up to growing human potential.
But whether I feel ready or not, that is the job we parents have. When we do it well, we help our children learn both boundaries and a sense of confidence in their abi…

Have you heard about the woman who's going to give birth live on the internet? That's right, according to Boston.com, Lynsee (that's two "E's"), a 23 year-old teacher from Minneapolis, is going to bring forth her 1st child live on camera for the whole world to see.
Am I shocked? Not really. Grossed out a bit, but not shocked. She's going to famous. Really, really famous...for like half a day...maybe longer if she goes for the Petocin. Now who doesn't want that?
According to CNN in this era of…

Most of us don’t wear pointy, golden brassieres or sexy tight cat suits so it may not be so obvious but I am convinced that all mothers are either Super Hero’s or Goddesses. Personally, I am far from being Helen of Troy or Hestia I feel as though I am more of a cross between Hera and Aphrodite with a little Me…
