Hi, this is Katie from Saving and Sharing It.  My life is an adoption circle starting with my own, to finding my birth mother, then birth father.  Then the next circle was adopting my daughter domestically 17 years ago and our son from Guatemala 6 years ago.  Finding out that he had an older brother who was also adopted.  Searching for his adoptive family, finding them in Philadephia (only 2 hrs away) loving the fact that they were looking for other siblings also and helping the two boy get to know each other.  This whole journey has been a wonderful experience. I don't blog about it (maybe I should) but I would still love to be part of this group.  I lived on both sides of the fence.  Being the adopted child and being the adoptive mother.  I wouldn't change a thing.  Sharla I am going to check out your magazine!

I just launched my new eBook "Shield: A Framework of Self-Care for Foster and
Adoptive Families". My hope is that it will provide help and encouragement to
those in all stages of adoption. For more information, please visit

Thank you so much for your support!

Hi Alicia. My husband and I are adoptive parents. We adopted both of our girls from the state (Child Protective Services in Texas). We've had them since they were 3 days old each and they are now 5. They are 3 months apart in age, not related and look like twins. A real miracle!
