Showing Random Generator Winners when announcing Giveaway winners

I am new blogger and am in the process of doing giveaways. I have noticed that on a lot of sites, winners are announced and the the random generator results are shown.
Is that the norm?

Would love people's thoughts on this?

I don't use numbers because my comments aren't numbered but it's the same process anyway. You take a screen shot after you've used Random.org and then crop it to place it on your blog.

I hope that I answered your question. Or do you need to know how to use Random.org itself?

Thanks for the responding on taking a screen shot. If you have asimple explanation of how to use Random.org, that would be great, the site is a little dense to understand.

1. Go through your comments to see which ones qualify (did they follow the rules, are they just commenting, etc.)
2. Either make a list on Notepad, or copy/paste the commenter's names Random.org site. If using numbers, just delete the comments that don't belong and get the correct number of total comments.
3. If using names, use List Randomizer.
a. Fill in all names exactly as they are in comments.
b. Click on Randomize.
c. Take screen shot.
4. If using numbers, use Random Integer Generator.
a.Change the number in the Generate ____ random integers to the number of comments you have.
b. Change the second box in second line to number of comments (value between 1 and ___ ).
c. Format in ____ column = should be one or 2 depending on how many comments you have.
d. Click on "Get numbers"
e. Take screen shot.

I crop the screen shot to show about 4 winners if there's only 1 winner. This way if one winner doesn't reply then you know who the second winner is. I've had to go through 4 winners one time!
